New UK procurement guidelines instigated by the announcement of the new National Infrastructure and Construction Pipeline

Changes welcomed by Mineral Products Association (MPA)

bricksThe MPA has welcomed the publication of new procurement guidelines by the government, which include information regarding the purchasing of cement and concrete; materials essential to infrastructure, construction and the development of rail and roads.

The publication of the new guidelines follows on from the new National Infrastructure and Construction Pipeline, which sets out to implement nearly €600billion worth of planned private and public investment. Changes within the new published guidelines aim to make it simpler for UK-based producers of these essential materials to plan and bid for upcoming government contracts.

Local procurement is a primary focus for government; this remains in line with plans to support local and national businesses to continually grow and thrive.
